What is pentecost ?

The word "Pentecost" is from the New Testament and comes from the greek pentekoste (hemera). The word means the fiftieth - the fiftieth day after easter. You will find the word only 3 times in the New Testament.

The background of pentecost comes from the old Testament where the event has different names as: weekly celebration (hag sabu'ot), Exodus. 34,22,  (hag haqqasir), 23,16, og the day of the first fruit (yom habbikkurim), 4.
